Reflection: I do believe these are great acts of character to stand by. They make part of who you are and who people see you as a person. Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship- all what makes us human and unique. I, for one, am going today after school (May 26,2015) to the St. Francis Medical Center to turn in my volunteer application so that I may volunteer during the summer. I also plan on talking to my counselor about joining Link Crew to help with the upcoming freshmen.

Broken News Daily

Broken News Daily: Patrick Morgan

Image result for broken news daily patrick morgan
Patrick Morgan is now know as the new nicest man in the world. Morgan works at an airport in Florida and while on his shift he found an Ipad with thousands of dollars in it, and as the person he is he did the good thing and turned it into the authorities.

Morgan was then compensated for his good deed and was given $60 by the owner of the lost Ipad. Not only did Morgan do the right thing and give the Ipad back, but the money he got in return as a reward he gave to a homeless woman and also gave some to a fellow employee who was having financial troubles.

As a true compensation for what Morgan did the state went and honored him for his kindness and even gave him a check for $625 for doing the right thing. He deserved it.

I believe this could serve as an example that there is good in the world and that we should all give our part in making it better.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Eric Smallridge was a prisoner who was sentenced to 22 years for driving drunk and crashing into a car with two passengers: 20 year olds Megan and Lisa. Both Megan and Lisa died instantly. When Smallridge was sent to court, the families of Megan and Lisa were happy to see justice made as Smallridge was sent to prison.
After a couple of years of being imprisoned for what he did. Smallridge's sentence got cut in half. The mother of Megan had forgiven Smallridge and asked the judge to reduce the man's sentence on account that Smallridge felt regret towards what he did.
Megan's mother forgave him because she said she could have hated him all his life but it would have not made a difference and it would not have made her feel better.
Now, and while on parole, both Megan's mother and Smallridge go to schools to talk to students the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving.
This single act of forgiveness changed the life of a man and of countless students and served as a lesson to all who listened on how not to drink and drive and to forgive because it is the only thing that will make you feel better.

In an attempt to safe as many lives as possible, overwhelmed doctors at Nepal's crowded National Trauma Center make split-second life or death decisions by trying to arrange earthquake patients in order of priority making sure they can get to everyone on time.

The center which is connected to the capital's Bir Hospital is filled with overworked medics . air officials and volunteers trying to help with the aftermath of the 7.8- magnitude earthquake that has killed more than six thousand civilians.

Hours after the quake, some two thousand people rushed for medical attention to the center which could only house 150 injured at a time.

Due to the locate and rough terrain, it meant it would be a couple of days until survivors from remote villages would be able to be airlifted to safety.

People have been demonstrating anger on the streets since Freddie Gray died on April 19 but violence has only broken out twice. The violence was accompanied by televised standoffs between protesters and officers, looting, and fires.
