S.S.S James E. Faust

Student Success Statement

"When obedience becomes our goal, it is mo longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block."

James E. Faust

I agree on a note that obedience is a key essential to life but there are many other things that are as important as well. For example, always doing you best and striving for what you believe in can take you a long way.

S.S.S Thomas S. Monson

Student Success Statement

"Obedience is the great test of life."

Thomas S. Monson

I agree to disagree. There are things in life that are more important than obedience, for example working hard. Working hard for what you want will get you places...and it would also get you what you want.

S.S.S David Bednar

Student Success Statement

"Obedience is central to becoming, being and remaining happy."

David Bednar

I do not completely agree with David Bednar because obedience is not always happiness. Depending on what the person is telling you do determines whether u should or not be obedient.

S.S.S Hosea Ballou

Student Success Statement

“Obedience sums up our entire duty.”

Hosea Ballou

I somewhat agree with Hosea Ballou because yes our duty is to be obedient but our duty lies in other things as well like being true to ourselves. It also depends on the circumstances in which you must be obedient.

Obedience

Obedience

Definition: Obedience is a type of behavior. It is when you listen to the orders given to you by an authority figure without questioning them.

Synonyms:
  • Respectful
  • Law-abiding
  • Devoted
An example of obedience would be when your parents ask you to do something like your chores and you do them, that is being obedient because you are listening to an authority figure. Another example would be an obedient soldier. A soldier is meant to take orders from his commander and to be prepared at all times.
