Student Success Statement

in doing what's wrong."
Wilford Woodruff

Reflection: I believe this man is right because nothing good ever comes out of doing the wrong thing, unless you want to make a bad name for yourself then o right ahead. Doing the wrong thing will only bring more wrong. I do believe though that under the circumstances of , say maybe, you must harm someone to help another person then it might have had a bit of an alright outcome. In other words, doing the wrong thing will not bring you good fame or fortune or love. It will only bring you hurt and lies and deceit.

Broken News Daily

Broken News Daily: Patrick Morgan

Patrick Morgan is now know as the new nicest man in the world. Morgan works at an airport in Florida and while on his shift he found an Ipad with thousands of dollars in it, and as the person he is he did the good thing and turned it into the authorities.

Morgan was then compensated for his good deed and was given $60 by the owner of the lost Ipad. Not only did Morgan do the right thing and give the Ipad back, but the money he got in return as a reward he gave to a homeless woman and also gave some to a fellow employee who was having financial troubles.

As a true compensation for what Morgan did the state went and honored him for his kindness and even gave him a check for $625 for doing the right thing. He deserved it.

I believe this could serve as an example that there is good in the world and that we should all give our part in making it better.

S.S.S. Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Student Success Statement

"The reward for doing right is mostly an
internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity
(self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem."

Reflection: I agree with Dr. Laura Schlessinger because it is true that when you feel you do something right you feel better as a person. You tend to think better about and stop underestimating yourself. Doing the right thing can boost your self esteem and make you feel worthy of doing something. For example if you were to be in class and you want to raise your hand but are too shy to do it, just raise your hand. It will make you feel a lot better that you spoke your mind or even something as little as saying the answer but either way it will make you feel confident about yourself.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Eric Smallridge was a prisoner who was sentenced to 22 years for driving drunk and crashing into a car with two passengers: 20 year olds Megan and Lisa. Both Megan and Lisa died instantly. When Smallridge was sent to court, the families of Megan and Lisa were happy to see justice made as Smallridge was sent to prison.
After a couple of years of being imprisoned for what he did. Smallridge's sentence got cut in half. The mother of Megan had forgiven Smallridge and asked the judge to reduce the man's sentence on account that Smallridge felt regret towards what he did.
Megan's mother forgave him because she said she could have hated him all his life but it would have not made a difference and it would not have made her feel better.
Now, and while on parole, both Megan's mother and Smallridge go to schools to talk to students the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving.
This single act of forgiveness changed the life of a man and of countless students and served as a lesson to all who listened on how not to drink and drive and to forgive because it is the only thing that will make you feel better.
