New Media

New Media Evaluation

A. What I liked about this class was the fast that we got to research and learn about different medical careers and how we did student success statements which taught us many valuable lessons. One thing I did not like about the class was having to do the say typing tutor for 15 minutes, it honestly got boring and quite frustrating after a while.

B. To improve the class you could teach us more about how to use computers and how they work and all the different programs they use. It would be nice to know a bit more about computers and how if something goes wrong I would know how to fix it.

C. I personally think I did my best in this class. I did everything I was supposed to do and I really tried to improve my typing skills.

D. Yes I have been reading my life planning 100+ goals daily for two minutes because doing it in class has showed me how important it is to remember your goals and figure out ways on how to achieve them.

E. I have tried my best on being a CTR person. I have to admit there are still sometimes when my lazy side takes over and I get tempted to not do anything but I know  that is not right because there are things that I must take care of like school.

F. To take responsibility for my Body-Mind-Spirit by promising to keep myself healthy and active, study hard to keep my mind sharp, and to always see the new day with a positive mind.

IDP

Interdisciplinary Project

We had been working for at least a month in our English class to prepare for our showcase night. For the IDP we were put into groups and given a topic to create a debate about. My group mates and I received the topic of Hepatitis. In our English class we were supposed to write and essay. create a poster and make a PowerPoint to show during our showcase with information of our topic. Our group worked very hard to accomplish what was needed. The IDP also counted as a grade in the rest of our classes as we were supposed to find research, conduct surveys, and make graphs about things that related to our topic. On December 11, every group was supposes to present and my group was given the time of 5:30 in room 213. During the showcase, we were to present in front of a panel that consisted of a teacher, a medical worker and a parent. We also had to dress up professionally. For the showcase, each group member had something they had to say about the topic. We were being judged on our PowerPoint, information, our professionalism, and our entire presentation as a group as well as given individual grades. When it came to the time for my group to present, I began to get very nervous thinking I would forget what I had to say or something else would go wrong. Once inside the room I began to feel better only because I saw there were only 5 people going to watch us present. In total it took my group five minutes to present ourselves and out topic. We answered any questions the panel had and we were then able to go home; the scare being over. None of my group members messed up, as in forgot their lines, but we did very well.My group did a lot better than we all expected.

Student Success Statement

"When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad."
Abraham Lincoln

Reflection: This quote made by the 16th president of the United States is very accurate. When I do something good for someone else, or myself, I feel good for what I have done and Accomplished. For example, if I were to get caught doing something bad, instead of lying about it I would tell the truth because I know that would make me feel better. When I do something bad, obviously I feel bad. I very much doubt that someone would feel goo about causing malice. For example, if I were have to lie to get myself out of something, I would feel very bad about not being truthful to those who i had lied to.

S.S.S. Mr. Haynore

Student Success Statement

You Are in Charge

"Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being."
Mr. Haymore

Reflection: This quote made by Mr. Haymore could not be any more true because if you take care and assume responsibility for those three things you will always do good. You must take care of you body to make sure you are not hurt physically for example and cuts or bruises. You must take care of you mind to make sure you are in the right state of mind or you may go a bit crazy. You must take care of your spirit because that is what makes you who you are. If you do not protect your spirit, you may as well be a sheep following the herd.

The Sting of A Scorpion

Patrick's parents always warned him to wear his shoes so that his feet can be protected from any harm. The morning of the camping trip. Patrick wanted to go for a walk but he was too lazy to put on his actual shoes that he convinced himself that flip-flops were considered proper footwear. So on him little walk. Patrick felt a sting in the arc of his foot and as he looked down he saw it was a scorpion that stung him. His leg hurt with excruciating pain that he began to yell out for the help of his parents. When his parents found him they began their two-hour drive to the nearest hospital and to their relieve the doctor said that the only people that would be affected bt the scorpion sting would be small infants. "Always do right."
Mark Twain

Reflection: I agree with Mr. Mark Twain because in life it is always best to do the right thing. For example, if you get an A on a test that you cheated on, do the right thing and confess because then the teacher will know you are trustworthy. Another example is that if you are in a situation where you are offered drugs or alcohol, do what is right and say no because if you give in to peer pressure you can get addicted or become dependent.
