Dance/Movement Therapist

Dance/Movement Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Dance movement therapists use movement and dance within a therapeutic environment to help individuals of all ages who are experiencing physical, psychological, emotional or mental problems. For example, dance therapists help those who suffer from symptoms like depression, anxiety, learning difficulties, dementia, autism and many others.  They perform controlled sessions where dance, physical movement, and communication are used to observe and explore behavior, attitudes, and emotions.

Salary: $40,000 a year

Education: A certificate from a certain school.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to become one? Why or why not?
-I think this is a very entertaining job where you get to interact with patients in a way a normal therapist wouldn't be able to. I think I would like to become a Dance/Movement Therapist because it helps people in a creative way.
