-It was invented to condition young athletes during the winter.

6.What were the circumstances at the beginning?
-Basketball is an indoor sport with nine players in each team.


7.What was it like at the start?
-It was slightly different to the game we play now.

8.What types of shots were taken?
-Free throws, field goal, three point shot.

9.How is basketball different today than when it first started?
-Basketball is different now because back then they would use peach baskets and after each shot the ball to be retrieved manually. The ball also changed because it went from a soccer ball to a Spalding ball similar to the one we use today. The original 13 rules have also been expanded to over 100.
